So my latest pin obsession is FigPins. These are roughly 3″ tall original illustrated pins in a plastic collectors case. While the series features pins from multiple franchises, my focus is of course Star Wars and as of August 11th they have released 44 Star Wars pins. This includes all exclusives and variants.
The quality of these pins is outstanding and the presentation is top notch, however the series is plagued by exclusives, variants and limited editions which naturally sell out fast and far too many end up on the reseller market instead of the hands of the collectors. If you want your collection to be complete, be prepared to shell out up to 5x retail price to scalpers. This is not going to be a cheap collection to complete.
But all gripes about exclusives aside, the quality of these pins really is second to none. This is a company that takes a considerable amount of pride in its product and it shows. Each pin has a unique serial number and can be registered in the FigPin official app. I think this is what irritates me so much about the scalping is that FigPin has put so much love and care into their product that it kinda sucks that they are in the hands of scalpers rather than collectors. More pins are scheduled to be arriving in the coming months.

Outside of writing, one of my favorite hobbies is collecting Star Wars pins. Over the years I have amassed 100’s and 100’s of pins. I’m going to be expanding my blog and website to include highlights from my collection and new releases.
First up is the new series from Funko. These pins are about 4″ tall and the collection has received three waves, including two special edition pins and two limited edition chasers. As of July 2021, there have been 17 pins released and future waves have not yet been announced.
01 – Princess Leia
02 – Darth Vader
03 – Han Solo
04 – Greedo
05 – Greedo (chase)
06 – No pin assigned. Verified through Funko.

SE – The Child (NYCC Loungefly exclusive)
07 – Stormtrooper
08 – Chewbacca
09 – Boba Fett

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my site. As with everyone else, 2020 has been blah. One day I have an insane amount of energy to create, and other days I barely have the energy to get out of bed. The year has taken a considerable toll on my mental health. The current election certainly is not helping. There has to be a light at the end of the rainbow, right? Yes, I know that is not the saying.
In a rare moment of creativity, I finished the cover to “Lucifer Just Want To Pet Kittens”.
With all of the medical experts suddenly coming out of the woodwork, I can’t decide which doctorate holds more weight. Is it a Google MD, a Wikipedia MD, or WebMd MD? Was it a two-year degree? Four? Eight? Or about 90 seconds? Was there a graduation ceremony with the current COVID19 situation? Which school did they attend? The only school I can find with the online program is Dunning-Kruger University.
I keep reading how people want things to go back to normal. They shouldn’t and here’s why.
Normal is broken. Normal has a history soaked in blood and violence and division. Normal is sexist, racist, elitist, homophobic. Normal is hate. Normal is repression and prejudice. Normal is old beliefs and traditions that need to become things of days past. Normal is just because something wasn’t offensive decade’s ago, doesn’t mean that it isn’t now. Normal is being closed off to facts that can change your mind or alter your beliefs. Normal is denying the truth that you may be wrong. Normal is playing judge, jury and executioner.Normal is what brought us here to right now.
Going back to normal is the worst thing that could happen. Because what used to be considered normal is not, never was, and never should be normal. Hate and intolerance and oppression should have never been normalized. We need to accept that, and be better people moving forward.
Normal was not good enough. Normal should never have been good enough. So here we are at a moment in time where we can and should change normal.
