Exciting Updates on My Screenplays, Novel and Comic Series

I’m pleased to announce that my latest screenplay, a dark comedy called “Some Restrictions Apply”, has been completed and turned over to the production company developing it. I’m really pleased how this one turned out. It’s a strong character piece that may contain some of my best dialogue to date. I’ll keep you posted on the development cycle. I have no updates on my other script “Akamanto” just yet. I’m waiting on my co-writer to wrap up some edits on what I hope to be the final draft.

In the meantime, Kevin is hard at work coloring issue #3 of “Shadowblade”. It’s moving a lot slower than anticipated, but it’s moving, so that’s something at least. We will be finishing the series.

So that just leaves me with “Death Just Wanted To Eat Waffles”. I am pleased to say that I am now on this full time. I’m about 150 pages in and will be sticking to it until completion. The conclusion to the Oceanview trilogy is likely going to be a lot longer than the two previous books. I’m not limiting myself to a page count, so when it’s done, it’s done. I’m excited how the ending to the trilogy is turning out. As I’m digging deeper into the story, I’m making new discoveries about the world I’ve created. If you think you’ve figured out where the ending could be going, you’re likely wrong 🙂 I am working a major twist into the conclusion which feels like a natural ending to the characters. We’ll also be spending more time in Hell getting to know Lucifer a little better. Drop a comment if you have some theories!

Progress on My New Writing Projects: Updates Inside

After a little gremlin in the system, my site is back online.

A quick update on things.

Shadowblade

Issue #3 is still being finished. Kevin is still hard at work coloring. I have finished the lettering and all covers are done. We still have a little ways to go, but it is going to be worth it.

Death Just Wanted To Eat Waffles

I just reached page 200 and am deep into the second act. As this is the conclusion to the trilogy I have a lot of threads to wrap up.

*secret horror script*

Turned over to the director. More news coming as soon as I can. NDA’s and all that.

Trading Grandma

My new screenplay that is actually going to be a stage play first. It’s a dark humor script that I will reveal more later. Wrapping up the first draft. Hoping to get it finished on the flight to Tokyo next week. In other news, I’m going to Tokyo next week!!!

Are there any projects you’re excited for?

Shadowblade Concept Art -Terinn

The streets of Creymon are populated with all kinds of questionable characters doing whatever is necessary to survive.

Terinn can often be found lurking outside the various taverns waiting for drunken patrons to stumble out clutching a few extra coins for adult entertainment. Often times, she disappears with the money before revealing any skin, leaving her clients drunk, broke, alone, and confused.

Concept art by Shadowblade cocreator Kevin R. Phipps.

Unveiling Shadowblade Issue #3 Variant A Cover

We are proud to reveal the cover for the first variant of issue #3 of Shadowblade. Pencils and inks are by Chris Hanchey and colors by Kevin R. Phipps.

Chris has been a massive supporter of the series so far. He has graciously donated variant covers for all three issues. Chris is known for his work on Iron Man, Hulk, and Transformers besides his own hit series Androsaurs. Between this and Kevin’s work on X-men, GI Joe and Captain America, we have some significant talent on this project.

This cover features three antagonists Fiel, Rinnick and Troam. Kalli and Amarah cross paths with these violent mercenaries in the City of Creymon.

To mix things up, this cover will be presented in a horizontal orientation. This gives it the feel of a British quad style movie poster. It complements the cinematic style we’ve striven for in the series so far. This is what happens when you turn filmmakers loose on a comic series.

The Kickstarter for Issue #3 launches Feb 3rd, 2026. Join the wait list to be notified on launch. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shadowblade/shadowblade-issue-3
